Virtuoso Cooking School is a place where you will learn how to cook simple yet creative, nutritious foods and drinks.   Taking it further we will look at the benefits of food and drink, the way it is prepared and consumed, the impact on our whole being,  looking at the whole ‘Holistic’ view to ensure maximum benefit can be achieved, body, mind and soul.

Our classes may comprise of the following:

~  One day workshops
~  Weekend workshops
~  Week long retreats (UK and Europe)
~  6 week courses (3 hours per week)
~  Team building workshops (specifically arranged to suit your organisation)
~  Family and couple workshops (specifically arranged to suit your needs)

Typically, our workshops and courses are hands-on and will include tutorial and guidance.  Where lunch is included, it will include the wonderful foods and drinks we have created together.

Although we are based in Bedford, Bedfordshire UK, we travel nationally to host workshops around the country so please contact us to register your interest and enquire further.

**All our foods are vegan and suitable to those who are gluten intolerant.  We do not cook with any animal products**

During your class/course you will:

  • Learn how to prepare and cook creative vegetarian/vegan/raw food (starter/snack, main dish and accompaniment, sweet treat, drinks)
  • Develop mindful awareness of your relationship and your creativity around cooking and eating
  • How we consciously approach preparing and eating food?
  • Food combining and the benefits
  • Focus on eating natural whole foods which are vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, no added sugar and using only healthy fats
  • Explore the colour, as well as taste and texture and the impact on the body
  • Develop awareness of your own being through gentle movements and meditation
  • Experience how a positive relationship to food is important in ensuring overall energy, health and well-being

This workshop/class is for you if you are:

  • Interested in cultivating a joyous and healthy relationship to food
  • Want to learn new and creative vegetarian/vegan/raw recipes and culinary skills
  • Are willing to engage fully in the programme of mindfulness practice

~  Creative Vegan Mindful Cooking Workshop
Saturday 23rd September
Monday 25th September

During this workshop you will learn how to make fresh seasonal vegan dishes that are quick and easy yet impressive including starters, main dishes and dessert.

This workshop will focus on cooking healthy and nutritious dishes

Today you will learn how to cook: 
– Light pea & spinach soup  
– Quinoa and red pepper salad served with tempeh
– Sweet potato, red pepper and butter bean stew
– Fermented sauerkraut with radishes
– Shortcake cookies served with a rhubarb chia jam

The workshop will be:
– Hands on and interactive
– You will be given recipe cards to take home on the dishes we have created
– Introduction to mindful cooking and eating
– Information on where to source your ingredients from
– Brief introduction on health and nutrition around the foods we cook with
– Friendly environment

~  Introduction to Vegetarian Indian Cooking
Saturday 7th October

During this class, you will learn how to make fresh and healthy classic Indian vegetarian dishes that will not only tantalise your taste buds but also give you the tools and techniques to be more experimental at home.

What you will learn:

– Lentil Dahl
– Okra & Potato Stew/Cauliflower, Pea & Tomato Stew
– White rice (just right!)
– Chapatis
– Salad
– Chutney

The class will be hosted by Virtuoso Foods and we will teach you how to put foods together to make tasty, colourful, healthy and easy dishes using only FRESH ingredients with no added saturated fats or refined sugars.

This class is for beginners and for anyone who would like to learn more about quick, easy, fresh and tasty Indian food vegetarian style.

All our dishes are vegan friendly and all gluten free except for the chapatis.

~  Introduction to Nutritious Soup Making
Saturday 18th November
Monday 20th November

Come and join us for a morning of hands on preparation and cooking quick, easy, healthy and delicious soups.

You will be shown how easy it is to make a ‘base’ soup as a stock and then add wholesome, nutritious and seasonal vegetables (and fruit) to create the most delicious and good looking soups just in time for those long winter nights.

We will show you how to combine different veggies, herbs, spices and condiments to enhance the flavour of your soups that you can share with family and friends and simply ‘wow’ them.

In this hands-on workshop, you will start to understand what foods work best together, food combining, different cooking methods, using herbs and spices for maximum flavour as well as being confident and creative in the kitchen.  In todays workshop you will learn how to make the following:

–  How to create the perfect rice (white/brown)
