November: World Vegan Month 2018

November celebrates World Vegan Month.

It is a time to recognise how far the vegan movement has come, to highlight how accessible and beneficial a vegan lifestyle can be and to encourage the vegan-curious to adopt veganism by sharing advice, recipes and ideas.

Here at Virtuoso Foods, we offer a tailor made vegan business to locals in Bedford as well as further afield, from private catering to events, to local pop ups, free information & recipes plus much much more.

Every day throughout November, we will post useful information, hints & tips, free recipes, guides and national as well as world vegan news.

Please stay in touch, communicate your views, ideas & thoughts and let us make this a month to remember and a healthy & hopeful future to come…..

How you can celebrate

People around the world choose to mark World Vegan Month in an array of different ways. You could host a vegan lunch at work or a vegan dinner party with friends; commit to taking part in vegan outreach in your local community; share your favourite vegan recipes on social media or even challenge your friends, family or work colleagues to go vegan for 30 days by taking the vegan pledge.  To keep us all in the loop #virtuosofoods #worldveganmonth #worldveganday
so we can see what’s going on.

It’s never been easier to go vegan.

This year alone, a huge number of restaurants, major supermarkets, and other food brands have embraced plant-based eating by releasing new vegan menu items, products, and even whole ranges free of animal-based ingredients.  How fortunate are we to have all this at our fingertips!

People who are concerned about their impact on the Earth should also take a look at the environmental consequences of animal agriculture. Pollution from farms, destruction of rainforest and other natural environments for pastureland, and the inefficient farming of crops to feed animals are wreaking havoc on the planet. Consequently, choosing plant-based foods can dramatically reduce your carbon footprint!

In addition, opting for a diet based on vegetables, fruits, grains, pulses, and other wholesome plant foods is so much better for our health than loading up on fatty, cholesterol-laden meat, eggs, and dairy “products”. And if you’re craving something indulgent, vegan chocolatesand other snacks are widely available, and you can create a huge variety of delicious recipes

So let’s kick off the month of November with a big ‘Vegan’ bang.
