Friday 10th February 2017 – Nutritious Food FIGHTS Cold/Flu Symptoms!

Leading up to the weekend, I think we all feel like we could do with a treat right?  Well I certainly do.

Hence I made some delicious foods and sweet treats for myself, my mum and guests we had over at lunch time today, in the midst of a chaotic kitchen, getting ready to supply you all with delicious Valentines treats (as per your orders) for next week.

 

I wanted to share with you the recipe for this delicious Chocolate Brownie which has no flour or any added sugar.  I am sure you will enjoy it as it is so delicious and a great weekend treat for the family.

Chocolate Brownie (Vegan, Gluten Free, No Flour, No Sugar – FULL FLAVOUR)

1 cup whole almonds
1 cup pitted dates
1 tbsp cacao/cocoa powder
1 tsp coconut oil
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 ripe banana
Pinch of cinnamon
Pinch of salt
2 tsp baking powder mixed with 6 tsp room temperature water (egg substitute)
Zest of orange (and juice of orange if the mix needs more liquid to bind it)

In a blender, mix the almonds first.  Then add dates until they come together.

Add all the other ingredients to the blender and mix until the mixture comes together.

From this mix you can make brownie muffins or put in a baking tin covered with greaseproof paper and bake in the oven on 180 oC for 25-30 minutes.  Cool and enjoy!

It has been a long yet fruitful week.  I was in London on Tuesday and Wednesday learning more healthy and exciting information on my Macrobiotic course as well as learning new and tasty dishes.

On Monday, I started to develop a sore throat with much aching in my chest and ears, however because of the information I learnt on my course (about what foods I should and shouldn’t eat when suffering with inflammation of my glands and the onset of a cold) and enjoying nutritious food/soups packed full of natural antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, I seem to have fought off any cold/flu developments – yeyyyy!  Thats good right?

On Thursday morning I attended a local course on ‘Introduction to Digital Marketing’ which was so insightful.  I learnt lots of information on do’s and don’ts of Social Media and hope to be more creative in my future posts so watch this space!

This weekend is going to be a wonderful balance of resting (both body and mind needs this) as well as baking and making lots of delicious goodies for client orders in preparation for Valentines.  As mentioned in a Facebook post yesterday, we are now fully booked leading up to Valentines and can not take on any new orders/bookings until 16th February so apologies in advance.  However, of course you can still place orders online for orders after the 16th February.
